Ya Kun Family Cafe at Jurong Point brings Singapore's most beloved kaya toast tradition to the heart of Boon Lay, serving as a cultural institution within the shopping centre's dining landscape. Located at #02-K1/K2, this outlet represents the iconic Singaporean coffeeshop heritage that has become synonymous with local breakfast culture and comfort food. Operating from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM daily, Ya Kun offers the authentic taste experience that has made the brand a national treasure since its founding. The cafe specializes in the signature combination of charcoal-grilled kaya toast, perfectly soft-boiled eggs, and aromatic local coffee that defines the traditional Singaporean breakfast experience.
The menu at Ya Kun Family Cafe centers around their world-famous kaya toast, prepared using traditional charcoal grilling methods that create the perfect crispy texture without charring. The homemade kaya spread, with its balanced sweetness and rich coconut flavor, is paired with thick slabs of butter sandwiched between thin, perfectly toasted bread slices. The complete Set A experience includes half-boiled eggs prepared to silky perfection and aromatic local coffee or tea blended to achieve the ideal balance of sweetness and milkiness. Despite the sometimes lengthy queues that reflect the outlet's popularity, customers consistently praise the bread quality as the highest standard with exceptional crispiness and the overall dining experience as authentically Singaporean.
Ya Kun Family Cafe Jurong Point serves as more than just a dining establishment; it functions as a cultural gathering place where traditions are preserved and shared across generations. The cafe's convenient location within the shopping centre makes it accessible for early morning commuters, shopping families, and anyone seeking an authentic taste of Singapore's coffeeshop heritage. With delivery services available through foodpanda and its position as a widely regarded cultural icon, Ya Kun continues to serve its mission of bringing traditional flavors to modern lifestyles. The Jurong Point outlet maintains the brand's commitment to quality and authenticity while adapting to contemporary dining preferences and convenience expectations.
I had stomach ache after eating this orange semolina cake. It was cold when I bought and I think they keep in the fridge for a few days and sell it. This is my second time I had stomach ache after eating this cake. I suggest that should not sell when it’s not fresh for customer health. Hope management will take action about it. Thanks!

Bought set A and top up another $1.30 for a cup of barley. Did not know barley could curdle to this extent …

Ordered via grabfood.
The crackers from nasi lemak set was soft and unfresh.
What if children whom are unaware of the differences ate it and had a tummy upset?
Ya Kun, Jurong point.
Please do a quality check on your sides before setting up for serving/ packing.

Very crowded on weekends. Q for about 20mins just to order food and beverages. Staff in kitchen is helpful and friendly.

Ordered takeaway. Service was disappointing. Upon collection, requested a change of bag due to stains all around the exterior/handle but was met with an unfriendly reply as if I was doing so to make the staff's job harder. All I needed was a clean bag.

Tried their Cheese Balls for the 1st time ever and omg I could hardly see nor taste the cheese, which was a big difference from its menu photo.
Menu photo shows cheese filling on the round side of the balls. But the actual product was all flour/cake and the cheese was barely there on the flat side of the ball. There were 2 balls that didn't seem to have any cheese at all!!!

First visit this outlet today at 2pm—what a delight! I politely asked where to pick up my food. The coffee maker aunty immediately passed me on, the next staff member said nothing. Clearly, asking a simple question is now an Olympic-level challenge.
Did I do anything wrong? I politely asked where to collect my meal—how shocking! I’m done with this outlet—unless I’m craving top-tier corporate-level apathy. Bravo, folks!” 😂

Ordered steam bread and kaya toast, then came bck in ~15 mins to look for my order, the cashier staff told me that because i came late then asked me to wait, meaning they gave my order to other customers just because i missed my order number? Is it reali work that way? They also never check for order and just gave me my incomplete order after i waited, i told them my order is nt complete then one of the aunty sounds very unfriendly like i did sth wrong? Such unprofessional service and unsystematic management

Had been patronising them since day 1 they opened at JP. Service is not consistent at this branch, depending on who the cashier was, who the drink maker was on that day. Today, the cashier seemed lost and needed to keep on repeating my order as if she was not listening and unsure. The service overall was on most occasions NOT friendly, no smiles but only black faces. I ever encountered very lousy customer service from the kopi auntie who assumed the drink I ordered, added more hot water into my kopi C when I requested for more evaporated milk due to the bitterness. She even showed bad attitude and argued with me when I asked for more milk instead of water. That staff needed training very badly! Today, the ikan bilis and crackers served in the nasi lemak were chewy and not crispy. The staff should maintain their freshness in airtight containers. Prawn thick bee hoon was kinda tasteless though the prawns were pretty fresh. The kaya toast were not well toasted, looked unappetising and not crispy too. Can the HQ take a good look and find out what is going on with your HQ branch's standards???

Just discovered that I can buy a cup of plain hot water for 80 cents. If I buy a drink like coffee or tea, I get a small cup of hot water for free! So if there is two of us, we only need to buy one drink. Soft boiled eggs are very consistent, not too runny.

Been frequenting this outlet since we live nearby. However the quality has dropped drastically recently. Fish otah is dry. Sambal is way too salty. The keropok that comes with the nasi lemak is always soft and gummy (do consider changing an air-tight container) . Bread is still soft and not crispy as it should. Coffee is acceptable but could be better. It wasn't even peak hour when we arrived.

Had waited for twenty minutes for my queue number before I headed to the counter to ask if it was going to be ready soon. Only then was I told by the staff that another customer had wrongly taken my order along with her own order. I wondered why my queue number was never called when the food was ready. Anyway I was told to wait for a new set to be prepared, and it tasted underwhelming like it was made in a rush.

The kaya pandan muffin was taste less which was disappointing. I ordered set an and got my eggs and coffee instantly but had to wait around 20 minutes for my toast which was very disappointing because my eggs went cold.

Happen to drop by this outlet for a quick breakfast before work around the area. Ya Kun brand's standard is so consistent - even throughout their outlets. 👍 One of the main reasons why Ya Kun is my prefer if not number one choice for breakfast or snack of kopi☕, toast 🥪 and soft-boiled eggs. 🥚🥚

Kaya toast bread 5*
Coffee 3*, it was too strong and bitter
Eggs 5*
Service 4*
Cashier lady seemed not happy to work on Sunday. She sounded agitated.
Cleaner lady was very gracious. Even though old, she worked diligently and pleasantly.
Seating space was more than sufficient.
Must eat- kaya toast bread. It never fails.
Wait time was less than 5 minutes.
Bread would come last. They will display your queue number. And then anybody can collect the bread left at collection point. So, wrong person may pick it and the correct diner may feel upset.
Better system can be worked.
Half boiled eggs are opened and served. Thus, you must consume quickly before it gets cold under the aircon.
Please tell the cashier lady to smile.
We will come back. For sure.
