This review is SOLELY for the economic rice store (Cai Fan). In the attached image you could see the dishes I ordered and I paid a whooping $7.90 for it. I originally looked at the prices on the board, and 1 meat 2 vegetable was $5.70 which seemed slightly reasonable given it was in a mall. As I was about to pay she quoted me $7.90 and I asked for a breakdown, which she claimed the meat was a premium for $3.50, the Tau Kee was $2.10 and the vegetables were $1.50, meaning the rice on it’s own was $0.80. I did not even know there were premium meats as it was smacked right in the middle without any labels, at least Chang Cheng economic rice labels the premium meats and gives an indication for the prices but there were NO indications that the meat had premium prices nor did the staff inform me of this premium prices. Definitely a sobering moment as I WILL NOT be patronising this store anymore as it is way more affordable to take the escalator down to the other economic rice store outside Old Chang Kee. What made me feel worst was that the meat was overcooked and really dry inside as well as being really tough to chew on, and the vegetables lacked flavour… Tau Kee was good so maybe next time just get the rice and Tau Kee

Whole grilled fish from what the fish. Great for sharing between 2 pax! Fish was rather fresh and tender. Ordered the pickled savoury flavour — sour and tangy with slight spice. It takes a while to find a seat here, so do be prepared to wait. Damage: $21.40
